Old is Beautiful
Beautiful photographs of Older People
The invitation
Would you like to capture beautiful photos of your older people in the local community or your services? Join the #OldisBeautiful project by hosting a workshop/discussion and a photoshoot for older people.
I will provide a kit for you to facilitate a workshop/discussion with older people on ageism and what beautiful means to them; and I will take individual photographic portraits of the older people who participate.
About me
My name Suzanne Phoenix and I am an award winning photographer whose portraits have appeared in the National Portrait Gallery. I love working with older people and worked with councils and other organisations to capture photographs of their older people. I have also worked with Celebrate Ageing Ltd on several photography projects combating ageism and building respect for older people.
About the #OldisBeautiful workshop kit
The #OldisBeautiful workshop kit was developed by Celebrate Ageing Ltd, a charity combating ageism and building respect for older people. The online resource has everything a facilitator needs to host a workshop/discussion about ageism and what beautiful means to older people. Evaluation of the resource has shown it helps to improve older people’s positive expectations of ageing.
The kit includes a 12 month licence and equips you with tools such as:
Step-by-step instructions to facilitate the two-hour workshop/discussion
Engaging PowerPoint presentation on ageism, or 4 x 5 min films for discussion
Participant information sheet and consent templates
Ready-to-use media release templates
Evaluation templates.
