Photo Walks

Suzanne has been documenting the streets of Melbourne/Naarm through her unique lens for over 15 years. She also leads Photo Walks with people to help them discover hidden gems in the places they call home, or suburbs and places they visit for the first time. Participants experience spaces of quiet beauty, hustle and bustle, and stumble across unusual and unexpected finds.

Suzanne provides inclusive and accessible Photo Walks in all aspects. From those with a budding interest in photography to seasoned professionals, any type of camera is great including smart phones. And bodies of all mobilities are welcome.

Public Photo Walks are happening monthly and there will be some Photo Walks happening with Neighbourhood House's across Melbourne soon too, sign up for the newsletter to get the announcements.

Photo Walks are also developed for organisations who do place-based/community development framework/social capital/safety focussed work and as a team building activity. If you have any ideas please get in touch.

Some quotes from previous Photo Walks:

“I can absolutely confirm these are a terrific way to connect with the joy of exploring and the almost meditative effect of observation. Conversations about practice, about effect and about places to enjoy.” - Brook

“What a day for moving slowly in Warburton and taking photos. Look up, look down what do you see? Thanks Suzanne for guiding us through.” - Ece

"Suzanne is a very insightful and gentle guide on the photo walk. I loved using the prompts Suzanne gave us, I really enjoyed the opportunity to see my surrounds in a different way and question how scenarios came to be. I also enjoyed the company and learning from others!" - Jane

“This was the second photo walk I have done with Suzanne. I enjoy the slow nature of these sessions immersing myself in an area, exploring and discovering hidden gems.” - Simone

“Thank you Suzanne Phoenix I loved this activity, a great way to see and capture a space moment or memory differently without a set agenda.” - Emma

“It was really great to be with a group of like-minded folks and to spend time doing something that I love. A cheap and easy outing that was super fun and lovely.” - Brenna

“Suzanne is great at bringing people together and exploring different approaches to getting the shot you are looking for.” - Jane
